Luis Suarez got only two out of an estimated 364 (under one percent) votes for the Football Writer's Association (FWA) Player of The Year award despite scoring 23 goals in an outstanding season for Liverpool.

Suarez seems to being punished for his bite on Branislav Ivanovic last month as well as for his general 'cartoon villain' image in the English media.

Gareth Bale won the award with 53 percent of the vote with Robin Van Persie in second with 43 percent.
