Rhian Brewster is likely to have a big future at Liverpool. Having had his career curtailed by a serious knee injury, the striker has proven to be in cracking form since the turn of the year.
He scored 11 goals in 22 appearances while on loan at Swansea City, firing the club into the Championship play-offs. He carried this goalscoring knack into pre-season at Liverpool by scoring three goals in two friendly games.
His penalty shootout miss in the Community Shield aside, it has been a very impressive few weeks for the 20-year old.
Where his immediate future resides is still unclear. It was thought he would be loaned out to a Premier League club this season, with Aston Villa and Sheffield United both linked. However, it now appears that he could remain at Anfield.
Football Insider are reporting that Jurgen Klopp has decided to keep Rhian Brewster at Liverpool this season, with the Englishman set to act as backup to the club's first choice front three.
It was rumoured that Liverpool would be in the market for another forward this summer, even after they decided against pursuing a deal for Timo Werner. It is now thought that Klopp feels Brewster can fill that role.
The German has not been afraid to use youngsters in competitive fixtures, with Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliot, and Neco Williams all likely to see an increase in playing time during the upcoming campaign.
With the likes of Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri failing to perform for much of last season, Brewster could receive plenty of minutes should he hit the ground running.
