Jurgen Klopp was not impressed with a journalist who brought up Didi Hamman’s comments on his faltering side.

Following Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat to Arsenal, former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamman claimed that Liverpool’s owners may discuss Jurgen Klopp’s future if recent results do not improve.

Injuries, poor defending and lack of recruitment have led to Liverpool already playing catch up just eight games in.

Liverpool are currently 14 points off top of the table Arsenal, with just two wins so far this season. While they have enjoyed huge success under Klopp, Didi Hamman claims Liverpool’s past achievements may be catching up to them.

“What they achieved and what they did last year was second to none. I don’t think that will be achieved again, to be within seven days of winning all four trophies and I think that was always going to be tough this season.

If you look yesterday, Arsenal, in the second half, were everything that Liverpool were four or five years ago. They were breath-taking going forward. Every time that they did go forward you felt that something was going to happen.

I trust that they’ll know where the spark is going to come from but whether it’s the end of an era? I wouldn’t write them off, but my imagination doesn’t let me see where the spark is going to come from in the next few weeks.

At some stage I think we will have that discussion about the manager and I’m not sure how far we are off from that.”

While it may be crisis mode at Liverpool, the idea that Klopp’s position may be questioned is something that most fans and pundits haven’t considered given the success he has brought to the club.

So when Hamman’s quotes were said to him by a journalist at a press conference, Jurgen Klopp was far from happy with the former Liverpool midfielder comments.

“Oh great, he’s a fantastic source, well respected. That doesn’t give you the right to say what you want, especially when you have no idea.

I actually think Didi Hamman doesn’t deserve for you to use his phrase to ask a question. Do me a favour and ask your own questions."
