Down through the years, Liverpool has developed a very strong connection with Ireland.
Not only are there thousands of Liverpool fans scattered across the island, but quite a few prominent players from the country have also made a name for themselves at Anfield down through the years. The likes of Ronnie Whelan, Ray Houghton, John Aldridge, and Mark Lawrenson are just some of the Ireland internationals that have starred in red.
Of course, Irish and Northern Irish players have not quite been so common in the last couple of decades. Caoimhín Kelleher has been the sole representative in recent years, although he has acted exclusively as a backup goalkeeper.
Conor Bradley looks like he has the potential to be the next man up. A 13-cap Northern Ireland international, he has starred for the team after coming in for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold in recent weeks.
That continued last night, with the Tyrone native scoring once and assisting two goals during a man-of-the-match display in the 4-1 victory over Chelsea. It was his first goal for the club.

Obviously Liverpool has a very special connection to Ireland and Northern Ireland.
I'm not sure how many of them were in the stadium today, but they were waiting a long time for somebody from Northern Ireland to play for the first team, play the way he plays, and the way he shows up.
It is a wonderful story, I cannot make it bigger than it is. We all have to deal with that and the boy has to deal with that. It's very positive, there is some fuss around him.
I can understand why everyone was cheering and everyone was so loud about the goal. It was beautiful. He deserves it, he played a top game like all the others as well.
I'm very happy for him.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold now back to full fitness, Conor Bradley could find playing time more difficult to come by over the coming weeks. However, considering the 20-year old's form, Jurgen Klopp may well consider using Alexander-Arnold in midfield in order to fit both players into the side.
In any case, he certainly looks primed to have a long and successful career at Anfield.
