Jurgen Klopp Has Imposed A Stricter Environment At Liverpool's Training Ground

It's unclear why that exotic tribe of people known as WAGs have been hanging around Liverpool's training ground for so long, but their days of rocking up at the 'headquarters of football' whenever they feel like it are numbered.

Jurgen Klopp subscribes to the view of Fabio Capello that these characters are a distraction and is taking steps to ensure that Melwood will be a cold house for such creatures.

In his opening speech to his players, the contents of which were reported to the Telegraph, he also rather optimistically Melwood 'the headquarters of football'.

Klopp is also introducing a tougher training session, with more emphasis on fitness. The more physically demanding training regime is necessary to facilitate Klopp's favoured high pressing game.

Not only this, but players will now have to earn days off. During the Rodgers era, there was apparently a culture of 'regular, routine days off' and this will now end.

In this respect, Klopp's approach is a return to that favoured by previous foreign managers, Gerard Houllier and Rafa Benitez.
