There are nervous times ahead for Liverpool fans, as three core members of their best team of the 21st century will see their contracts expire at the end of the current campaign.
Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have transformed the fortunes of the club since arriving on Merseyside during the 2017-18 season, with the pair winning every major honour during their time with Liverpool.
Both Salah and van Dijk's have only one season remaining on their current deals, as does home hero Trent Alexander-Arnold. Remarkably still only 25, Alexander-Arnold has been among the first names on the teamsheet ever since breaking into the team during Jurgen Klopp's early years in charge.
However, with a deal yet to be agreed for Alexander-Arnold to stay past next summer, there is an ever-growing possibility that Liverpool could enter next season without any of their crucial trio.
Reports from the UK this week suggest that European champions Real Madrid are ready to pounce, and are eyeing a move for Trent Alexander-Arnold to kick-start a new era at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Report: Real Madrid pushing for Trent Alexander-Arnold when Liverpool contract expires
Miguel Delaney of the Independent reported on Tuesday that Real Madrid are eyeing three Premier League stars to become the first signings of a "new era" for the Spanish giants.
The report suggests that alongside moves for Rodri and either William Saliba or Christian Romero, Real are hoping to snap up Trent Alexander-Arnold on a similar deal to that which brought Kylian Mbappé to the Bernabeu on a free transfer this summer.
Delaney suggests that Alexander-Arnold is "assessing" the situation at Anfield after the departure of Jurgen Klopp, and is known to be in close contact with Jude Bellingham. His England teammate Bellingham has been a revelation since moving to Madrid last summer, starring in the side's run to the Champions League crown.
Liverpool are set to face Real Madrid for the fifth time in eight seasons in this year's Champions League, with Anfield the venue for November's group-stage clash.
It's become a classic rivalry of the modern age and, should Trent Alexander-Arnold choose to jump ship from Liverpool, it could well get another addition of spice.
