Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has fired back at the rumours which circulated this week speculating about the future of Paul Pogba.

There have been suggestions the Frenchman is unhappy with his role under Mourinho, but when speaking to the press ahead of tomorrow's FA Cup clash Mourinho fired back at the reports.

I think we have, I don’t want to be – what’s the opposite of nice – I don’t want to be nasty with other country’s punditry industry but we have here the biggest punditry industry because there are hundreds of them with great background and knowledge in football.

The United boss also clarified where Pogba's preferred position is.

You know which is the Pogba preferred system? 4-3-3? Do you know Pogba’s favourite position in 433? Eight on the left. So it’s easy and honest and objective to say Paul didn’t play well against Newcastle but some of the guys are paid millions, don’t let people read things that are not true, you are paid to read the game and explain the game, don’t say bullshit.

In the past few weeks, Pogba has been taken off against both Spurs and Newcastle. It is clear Manchester United are struggling to accomdate their record signing in the side, although Mourinho did confirm Pogba would start tomorrow against Huddersfield.

It happens with every team when the most crucial players are not performing. You don’t need to come with we want to sell him, you don’t need that, some people go in that direction, some of them I know for many many years and I know their surname is Liar, and that’s not nice. He plays tomorrow.

French newspaper L’Equipe had reported last week that Pogba regretted returning to Manchester. It will be interesting to see does Mourinho adapt his formation to suit Pogba's strength over the next few weeks or does Pogba adapt his style.
