Jose Mourinho Sticks The Boot Into Jurgen Klopp And Arsene Wenger

Ah, Jose Mourinho. From his insane celebration when his Inter Milan side beat Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final in 2010 to his declaration that he is the 'Special One', he has provided us with no shortage of interesting moments in his time at the top level of football.

Mourinho has never been afraid to express his opinion on others involved in football-he infamously called Arsene Wenger a "specialist in failure" in 2014-and he is at it again ahead of the new Premier League season. Mourinho took a shot at Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger after the two criticised the vast amount of money United are planning to pay to capture Paul Pogba from Juventus (believed to be around £100 million).

Klopp said that he "would even do it differently if I could spend that money" and pointed out that "(i)f you bring one player in for £100m and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney". Wenger labelled the bid "completely crazy".

And Mourinho had this to say in response to his two managerial rivals:

I only speak about us. I heard already two of my colleagues from other clubs speaking about us. I do not like that. It is not ethical.

There are things that when I do (them), it is not ethical but when others do (them), nobody says that and everything is normal.

But the reality is I don’t speak about the others. They can do what they want.

And Mourinho went on to defend the transfer policy of his new club, who have signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal for £30 million and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund for £26.3 million as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic from PSG on a free transfer.

I think our market was good. We made decisions. We decided to bring 4 players, not 10, that are Man United level and can improve the squad and not just be one more. This is a profile of our market.

Mourinho's first encounter with Klopp will be at Anfield on 15th October while the Red Devils will host Wenger's Arsenal side on 19th November.
