It's a bad sign when a manager's press conference is more entertaining than a lot of what is going on on the pitch this season. While the Premier League may only be simmering away on a low heat, Jose Mourinho and his relationship with his players appears to be reaching boiling point.
Mourinho's press conference ahead of tomorrow's Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev was enthralling viewing. He was downtrodden and glum. But he was still Jose.
First up he was having none of the suggestions that a player of his had claimed he would rather lose than win for him. When that questioned was followed up, the Chelsea press officer stepped in and suggested that the BBC had dropped their standards by pursuing the story.
After that it was on to classic Mourinho. He may not have been monotone in his speech but the words that came out were still his. In relation to comments after his Champions League win with Porto in 2004, he did in fact predict the future.
I said one day the bad results will come, and I said I will deal with them in with the same honesty and dignity as always.
Some may suggest that the 'dignity' part of that leaves a lot to be desired but there was better yet to come.
Jose: 'When you reach my level it's difficult to learn from others, you have to learn from yourself. I learn day by day.' #CFC

The world would be an interesting place if we all had the self-belief of the Chelsea boss. Chelsea fans be accusing the media of a witch hunt to get him out his job, but with quotes like that, how could anyone want the circus to come to an end.
