The news that many Manchester United fans wanted to hear, and many others fear terribly, looks like it could be happening after reports in Spanish media have claimed that Jose Mourinho will "100%" manage Manchester United next season.
The usually reliable 'El Confidencial' is credited with breaking the news in Spain, after receiving information that Jorge Mendes had arranged a deal to bring 'The Special One' to Old Trafford which they believe to be fully accurate.
The article on the Spanish publication's site is titled "Pep Guardiola's nightmare will come true: having Mourinho as a neighbor" and quotes Portuguese sources with the news that a deal has been agreed.
In Portugal, informed sources say that Mourinho has already signed an agreement with Manchester United.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, also is heavily involved with the Old Trafford club, and has been instructed to arrange a deal for the best replacement for Van Gaal.
They continue to explain that the only issue is whether or not Manchester United wait until the summer to relieve Louis Van Gaal of his duties.
It's certainly is interesting to see such a confident claim, and we'll wait and see how this develops in the coming days.
The idea that Louis Van Gaal will remain in charge until the summer will no doubt upset a few Man United fans, but then again the idea of a Guardiola vs Mourinho Manchester derby is absolutely fascinating.
