In the end, the appointment of David Moyes as Sir Alex Ferguson's replacement at Manchester United rose a few eyebrows. Moyes hadn't the experience of managing a team that was contending for titles, and given that there were other more experienced candidates who expressed an interest, it appears a strange move in hindsight.
One candidate who hasn't gotten over being snubbed for the job is Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho. Reports from France appear to hint that Mourinho is angling for a move to Old Trafford next summer. Le10 Sport are reporting that the Glazer family aren't happy with Louis Van Gaal's management, and Mourinho still hasn't gotten over missing out on the United job the first time around.
The French report indicate that there is a mutual interest from the Glazers and Mourinho into making this move happen. Mourinho's future at Chelsea isn't exactly certain, and this is sure to throw a spanner in the works.
Mourinho is facing a stadium ban, and has suggested that he won't even watch Chelsea's game against Stoke this weekend, (via the Times)
Maybe I watch a movie. I don’t know. It’s the first time. For me, it’s very similar to going to a cinema to watch a film and somebody tells me I cannot come in.
Mourinho did hint that he has been busy preparing his assistants for the game, hinting that they will be in trouble should they veer from the game plan that the Portuguese has set out for his team.
