It may not quite have been the comeback of 1999 but, somehow, Manchester United escaped Turin with a memorable win tonight. Although it guarantees Jose Mourinho's side little more than a favourable chance of making it out of the group just yet, it may well be regarded as the most noteworthy win of his tenure thus far.
Best United performance under Mourinho by a million miles. An utter triumph. The character shown, it total adversity in terms of Mourinho’s job prospects, in recent weeks has been incredible. Turin brings the best out of United.

Falling 1-0 behind to a Cristiano Ronaldo wonder-goal, it was no less than the Italian champions deserved. Fluffing a series of further chances to double their lead, a quick-fire double late on resulted in a rare home defeat for Juventus.
Unquestionably pleased with his night's work, the former Inter Milan manager took this opportunity to rile up the home supporters somewhat.

Speaking shortly after this memorable night for Manchester United, Jose Mourinho was unsurprisingly pleased with having overseen a win in the given circumstances.
"The game was a very good game, it doesn't matter the end, the game was really top," Mourinho stated.
Quickly turning attention toward his post-match antics, Mourinho elabourated upon the incidents that had preceded it.
"In beautiful Italian they insulted me for 90-minutes, and I didn't insult them, I just made a little thing," Mourinho said of the ear-cupping.
Acknowledging that he knows the United fans may well have enjoyed it, Mourinho was quick to praise tonight's defeated side.
"I respect Juventus, I respect their players, their manager .... the quality they have, and I'm really, really proud of my boys because their performance was really good."
Confident looking ahead to United's crucial tie with Young Boys in the next Champions League clash, Jose Mourinho was understandably asked about the more immediate task at hand against Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend; "Let me rest," was all he had to say to that.
