One week into the Premier League and already everyones obvious prediction has come true. Jose Mourinho would make himself the centre of attention by saying something controversial. Perhaps he does just live off that and all this situation surrounding his treatment of Chelsea's medical staff is how he gets his kicks.
One things for sure. He doesn't seem too worried about it, at least not publicly. Mourinho's pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday's clash with Man City went ahead as usual today and there was only one thing on everyone's mind. Mourinho has come across as a little more than a petty bully this week and everyone was waiting to see what he'd have to say in his defence.
After confirming that the press conference would be about Sunday's game and little else, Mourinho then read out a statement which can be summed up in the following three tweets.
Jose: 'First of all I want to say I have a fantastic medical department led by Dr Paco Biosca, I have a good relationship with them.' #CFC

Jose: 'They tell me they have never been praised as much as they have done by me in the last couple of years.' #CFC

Jose: 'Jon Fearn and Dr Carneiro will not be on the bench on Sunday but that doesn't mean they cannot be in the future.' #CFC

Rather than attempting to calm the situation, Mourinho then pointedly refused to answer any follow up questions and when such questions were asked, the Chelsea manager was in no mood to change his mind.
Mourinho: "The ones that like football, please stay. The ones that don't, go or don't ask questions."
