Amazon Prime's Stephen's Day Premier League coverage got off to a surreal and sad start this afternoon as Jose Mourinho announced the death of his dog to the world. The Mourinho's Yorkshire terrier Leya passed away yesterday.
Mourinho was asked how he was getting on in a prematch interview and revealed that his dog Leya had died on Christmas Day.
"To be honest, it was very sad because my dog died and my dog is my family."

Losing your dog is a terrible thing, but to have your dog pass away on Christmas Day is hugely sad. Mourinho was involved in an altercation with UK police over treatment of Leya back in 2007. Social media football watchers extended their sympathy to the Special One.
