While the English League Cup might not be the most aspirational of all the trophies on offer, it meant enough to both Diego Costa and Jordan Henderson with the pair engaged in a tunnel spat after their 1-1 draw on Tuesday Night.
It would appear that punches weren't thrown yet Liverpool staff had to seperate the pair after they engaged in a pushing match. What caused the argument is unknown, however Costa has had run-ins with Liverpool players in the past, notably Martin Skrtel in November's 2-1 Chelsea win at Anfield. Costa was accused of standing on a Liverpool's players foot in last nights game, hardly the gravest of offences.
The return leg of the fixture is next Tuesday and is finely poised, this incident only adding to the already hostile atmosphere between the two clubs. As one Twitter user suggests, we may even be treated to a Terry/Costa v Henderson/Sterling grudge match, with the small matter of a cup-final on the line.
