Jonathan Walters was in the Sky Sports studio this evening to analyse Ireland's Nations League clash with Denmark with the 35-year-old is out of action  having suffered an achilles injury that is set to keep him on the sidelines for six months.

In the build up Sky Sports presenter Scott Minto inevitably asked the Burnley forward about the leaked Whatsapp message from Stephen Ward, which purported to detail the falling out Ireland assistant manager Roy Keane had with Walters and Harry Arter.

Contrary to O'Neill's take on the incident, which was that Ward's account of events was not accurate, the Burnley man seemed to confirm that his team mates leaked WhatsApp was bang on the money:

Whatsapp has a lot to answer for.

It's not far off what happened.

While Walters didn't go into any great detail about the incident he did not seem to condemn Keane or O'Neill outright, though the forward did reiterate several times that Ward's take was 'not far off what happened'.

It's hard to imagine that Martin O'Neill is too happy with Walter's cameo, though at 35 years of age and facing a spell on the sidelines perhaps Walters feels he has nothing to lose by confirming the reasons behind his spat with Keane.
