The harbingers of doom were out for Celtic this week. With Rangers three from three, there was a feeling that Steven Gerrard had found his feet and this was the year they would dethrone Celtic. There was certainly a feeling that a win at Ibrox might be slightly beyond Neil Lennon's team today.

Ultimately though, it was more of the same in Scotland. Odsonne Edouard gave the visitors the lead after 32 minutes and the champions comfortably held of the Rangers onslaught for the next hour. Then, as the game hit injury time, Celtic sealed it with a goal from Irish international Jonny Hayes.

The 32 year old is in his third season at Celtic Park now, but has been a bit part player under Neil Lennon. There were rumours he would leave in the last transfer window. He remained and came on as a late substitute today on the left hand side of the Celtic attack, and led and finished a move that was the perfect response to being brought on in a stretched game, showing good composure after missing the original chance.
