With Louis Van Gaal's early season squad selection making it perfectly clear that Northern Ireland international Jonny Evans is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, it was only a matter of time before another Premier League club came in for him.
It looked as though Evans was heading to Everton at one point, but Roberto Martinez denied the claims and sure enough nothing came from it despite reports from several reputable media outlets. Now, however, there has been some concrete news on Evans' future as West Bromwich Albion have agreed a deal of £6m + £2m in potential add-ons with Manchester United, and Evans is undergoing a medical ahead of the move.

Evans has made 131 appearances for Manchester United since making his debut in the 08/09 season having graduated from the club's youth setup, and looked at a number of stages as though he was capable of cementing a role in the starting XI, but regular unavailability due to injury eventually took it's toll as Evans faded further and further out of the first-choice picture.
West Brom are getting a talented defender with high-level Premier League experience, and a compatriot to partner Gareth McAuley at the heart of their defence in what looks like a good bit of business for them.
The emergence of Daley Blind as a centre back at the start of this season would suggest that Louis Van Gaal doesn't need to re-invest in a defender, despite the fans wishes that he do so.
