Back in September 2012, Manchester United narrowly won a tense battle at Anfield thanks to a Rafael worldy and a Robin Van Persie penalty.
Steven Gerrard also scored in the match, but the main talking point in the Sky Sports studio was then-Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey's red card for a lunging challenge on Jonny Evans.
Shelvey was visibly frustrated with the decision, and as he left the pitch he exchanged words with Sir Alex Ferguson in a manner which did not impress the Scot, as can be seen by this post-match interview:
In the end, Shelvey did apologise, and he has explained that Sir Alex accepted the apology and even enjoyed seeing the young midfielder have a go at him:
I was a bit immature then and a bit silly. I pulled him aside afterwards and apologised to him and he was spot on with me.
He said, ‘No I like it. It shows you’ve got a bit of balls about you’
Considering yesterday we learned that Sir Alex gave Robbie Brady a bollocking for letting Cristiano Ronaldo skip him in the queue at lunch, it's clear how you earn the legendary manager's respect.
