Man City have secured their seventh FA Cup title with a nervy 2-1 against Man United this afternoon, in a game which they were the better team but could not shake off a dogged United side.

The nature of the win will not worry them, however, as it adds to this season's Premier League title, leaving just the Champions League in their bid to match Man United's treble winning side of 1999.

With the Champions League final taking place next Saturday, Man City and their players can finally begin to focus and talk seriously about the possibility of a treble.

"It's close, it's close," said John Stones after today's cup final win.

I said we had to focus on the game in hand and everyone's mindset today has been incredible towards that, in the build up to this game and just focusing solely on that and not getting ahead of ourselves and looking at Champions League or whatever.

Now we've crossed this hurdle and we can do that and we can dream. And hopefully we can do it.

Pep Guardiola also felt comfortable talking about the treble and the one trophy that has alluded him during his tenure at Man City.

"We can now talk about the Treble. Of course we still have to win the Champions League. We performed so well for our city and our fans.

"They follow man to man so tight and we didn't expect them to defend so narrow. We found more spaces in the second half.

"Tomorrow and the next day they can have off. We've then got three or four sessions to train for Inter Milan. We'll travel on Thursday morning after training.

"It was so important for us today. The FA Cup is so nice.

"I'm a Barcelona fan but I will love this club for the rest of my life. I know today we gave our fans a good gift to enjoy against our neighbours."
