Chelsea are coasting against Peterborough United in a magnificently dull FA Cup clash, but trust Brave John Terry to give the competition back a small bit of relevance, by replenishing the stocks of Things At Which The Internet Can Laugh At John Terry For.
What with Chelsea's magnificent run of late, it has been easy to forget about Terry altogether, until the cameras panned to a glum-looking captain watching the 2-0 defeat to Spurs from the stands.
Antonio Conte rotated heavily for the FA Cup clash today, meaning Terry made his first appearance for Chelsea since November 5th, and it ended in calamity: a straight red card for hauling down Lee Angol with a comically late challenge. Terry was adjudged to have denied a clear goalscoring opportunity with his maladroitness, so referee Kevin Friend decided there was no option but to send him off.
It all came about from an exquisite Chris Forrester pass, too. Watch below:
John Terry Red Card
Chelsea's official twitter account were loathe to place the blame at Terry's feet, saying that the referee decided it was a foul, rather than declare the objective truth that it was, indeed, a foul.

Poor JT: he looked every minute of his 36 years when lunging in for that tackle.
The tackle and subsequent decision by the referee means that Terry picks up his second red card in eight games for Chelsea, and also means that three of Chelsea's last six red cards have been shown to their club captain.
Terry is wrestling with his decline and the reality that he will leave Chelsea at the end of this season, something he spoke about with admirable honesty to William Gallas a couple of months ago.
