John Terry is on the verge of a move to Spartak Moscow in Russia, according to reports this morning.

Terry has been without a club since leaving Aston Villa last season, after a playoff defeat memorably garnished with news of Terry's demand for a contract clause preventing him playing against Chelsea...before Villa headed that off by ensuring they wouldn't be playing Chelsea at all.

Terry hinted that he might return to Villa, and was also linked with a move to Sporting in Portugal, but the Mirror report this morning that he is undergoing a medical with Spartak.

It means that Terry will return to Britain with Spartak to face Steven Gerrard's Rangers in the Europa League - a sentence Balls never envisioned ever writing.
