Generally, it is quite gratifying when a famous person acts how you expect them to.
It's why European football fans really quite enjoyed Cristiano Ronaldo's dismissive comments of little old Iceland after they bravely clung on for a draw against Portugal at Euro 2016:
I thought they'd won the Euros the way they celebrated at the end, it was unbelievable.
When they don't try to play and just defend, defend, defend this in my opinion shows a small mentality and are not going to do anything in the competition.
People love being proved right. John Terry is another who earns the frequent scorn of the Meme Generation, what for his proclivity for being really rather selfish. This seemed to hit an all-time high at the end of last season, when Terry used what was meant to be his farewell speech at Stamford Bridge to ask the club for a new contract. It was all very odd. And, despite it initially looking otherwise, Terry was indeed granted his wish, and is currently warming the bench for Chelsea having started the first couple of games.
With Chelsea in sensational form - they've won their last seven league games and have only conceded once - Terry is distinctly second choice and looks likely to see out his Chelsea days on the subs bench.
Terry spoke about this to former Chelsea teammate William Gallas, and spoke utterly brilliantly. He speaks with quite palpable emotion, but also realises that if he remains out of the team, Chelsea will be successful, which is his ultimate ambition.
It's great, and you can watch it below.
That might just change your opinion of him.
