Don't look now, but could Manchester United actually be turning things around under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer? There have been false dawns before, but the club are currently in a strong run of form.

They are unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions, a run which included moving onto the next round in both the FA Cup and Europa League. They also sit in fifth place in the Premier League, which is likely to be good enough to secure Champions League football next season.

Bruno Fernandes has been a hit since his January transfer, while Odion Ighalo has also made a surprising impact in the cup competitions. All of this has also been done without Paul Pogba.

The French midfielder has been a bit part player this season, missing time due to a number of different injuries. It is expected he will make his return in the coming weeks and one former United player thinks he still has a big part to play.

Speaking on Talksport, John O'Shea said that Pogba will have a say in how the remainder of the season plays out for his former club:

There are definitely good signs. Obviously Fernandes has had that desired impact and Ighalo seems to have found his feet.

There are good signs but there’s still a lot to do, a lot to improve on. You bring Pogba back into that mix and there are good signs ahead.

He’s had a couple of operations and he’s back on the training pitch now, and he could hopefully play a big part in United closing the gap on Chelsea to get to the top four, and that would be a huge impact.

I remember Paul in the youth team and coming into the first team, and he’s a decent fella.

Behind the scenes he works brilliantly in the gym, he’s a good character, he drives other players on.
