US-based English comedian John Oliver is known for his rants at FIFA on his HBO show Last Week Tonight. He's taken his campaign against FIFA to another level after paying for this four minute special to air on Trinidadian TV.

Oliver's clip was in direct response to Jack Warner's similar paid special on the same channel where the ex-FIFA official threatened to expose a large amount of FIFA corruption. Warner's broadcast was titled "The Gloves Are Off", hence Oliver's choice of "The Mittens Of Disapproval Are On".

Amongst the appeal to Warner to expose the evidence that he has gathered on officials, Oliver attempted to use Trinidadian slang throughout the broadcast to "help get the message across", before allowing the Trinidadians watching to take a moment:

I'll just pause for a second to allow the people of Trinidad to laugh at the whitest person who's ever lived attempting to speak Trini, and instead sounding real doltish, eh?

Aside from all the jokes, the timing of Oliver's message could not have been better. Yesterday, we found out about what is surely the most despicable allegation placed at the feet of FIFA and Jack Warner in particular. With money earmarked for Haiti earthquake victims said to have ended up in Warner's personal accounts, perhaps Oliver should take over Trinidadian TV on a more regular basis.
