Those who tuned in to Newstalk's Off The Ball on Wednesday night expecting to hear the views of John Hartson regarding Ireland's upcoming clash with Wales got exactly that, to be fair, but they also got a little bit of extra information that the wider public may not have needed.
After playing down the absence of Gareth Bale - something Hartson was surprised to see be such a big deal for the Irish fans after the boys in green 'kept him quiet' in Dublin - Hartson called on players such as Joe Allen and Aaron Ramsey to prove that Wales were not just a one-man-team.
It was after discussing the Wales game that Kevin Kilbane decided to ask Hartson to confirm a rumour that had been floating around since his playing days that the former Arsenal and Celtic striker never - ever - wore underpants.
Not in everyday life, and not while playing football either.
Without missing a beat, Hartson confirmed that it was in fact true and in turn quizzed Kilbane on his choice of underwear.
I never wore pants. I still don't wear pants.
What do you wear? Are you a boxers man? A knickers man? What are you?
I was the same on the pitch as I what I was off it really. One thing my wife's never had to buy me is boxer shorts or pants because I don't wear any, simple as that. I don't think I'm the only male out there who doesn't wear pants. I know a lot of people who don't wear pants and it's no big deal.
When a listener texted in to suggest that maybe Hartson wore football shorts with that awful meshed netting in them, Kilbane suggested that he had heard that Hartson cut the netting out with a pair of scissors as he preferred to "hang loose".
The former Republic of Ireland international had told Hartson that he was a 'boxers man', but photographic evidence from the time Killer's shorts fell down at Stamford Bridge while he was at Sunderland suggests he was not being entirely truthful unless he has had a change of policy since retiring as a pro.
