Ireland international John Egan is reportedly close to switching Championship clubs.
According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, the 25-year-old is on the verge of leaving Brentford and joining Sheffield United.
The Corkman - son of six-time Kerry All-Ireland winner John Egan - joined Brentford on a free transfer from Gillingham two years ago.
He has since made 73 appearances for the club and also proved to be an offensive threat, scoring seven goals. He was also named Brentford captain last season.
The fee mentioned for Egan is £4 million, a tidy profit for Brentford considering they picked him up for nothing.
The switch would mean a return to Bramall Lane for Egan. He made one appearance for the club while on loan from Sunderland six years ago,
Sheffield United finished tenth in the Championship last season, one place below Brentford.
