The last time I checked, €10,000 is a lot of money. That's the amount of money the FAI had to spend to replace all of today's matchday programmes. Why? Because of comments John Delaney made in the original programme about alleged corruption in FIFA.
While it seems absolutely necessary for the FAI to spend that money to avoid a potential lawsuit, it does seem like a very avoidable reason to throw €10,000 away.
18,000 programmes had to be replaced at the last minute and reprinted after the communications teams decided that the comments made by Delaney in a feature should be taken out.
John Delaney has been under pressure in recent weeks since the news of FIFA's hush payment over the Theirry Henry handball.
