The father of our 'football family', John Delaney turned 50 last weekend and celebrated the landmark at in Dublin over the weekend.
Weeks after getting engaged to girlfriend Emma Kevlin, October has been a damn good month for Delaney who can look forward to more cans on the train with the Irish supporters in Copenhagen after Martin O'Neill's men reached the World Cup playoffs.
We don't know much about the event, but a photo has since emerged of a giant Aviva Stadium cake that was made for the occasion, as well as a big cardboard cut-out of Delaney photoshopped onto an Ireland player with the number 50 on his shirt and shorts.

The unique shape of the Aviva making for an absolute nightmare for bakers and cake-makers we can only imagine. Shades of those football cakes you used to get in Superquinn with the little players on it, although on a much grander scale.
