John Delaney has apologised for any offence caused after a video emerged of him singing a Wolfe Tones song in the Bath Pub near the Aviva Stadium after Ireland's win over the USA last Tuesday.
The song in question was 'Joe McDonnell', a song honouring the IRA hunger striker who died in 1981.
Delaney criticised those who filmed the incident in an interview on 2FM, saying 'If people want to film these things in what I would call a sly way, and then try to make them public, it is wrong.'
However, he also apologised for any offence caused and said he was not a person who supported violence.

The video emerged in the same week the English fans were reprimanded by their own FA for chanting about the IRA at Celtic Park
