St. Patrick’s Athletic have confirmed that Jon Daly has been relieved of his position as manager in a statement released on Wednesday.
The dismissal comes following Monday night’s away defeat to Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds, where an early Ellis Chapman goal gave the home side all three points. It was Pats’ seventh league defeat this season.
The defeat leaves the Saints seventh in the League of Ireland Premier Division table after 15 games, with a run of form that has gotten them one win from their last six games. This leaves the Inchicore side nine points adrift of league leaders Shelbourne, and only four points of the relegation playoff spot.
In the statement, Saints chairman Garrett Kelleher thanked Daly for the 12 months that he spent with the club and wished him “the very best for the future.”

Jon Daly's reign at Richmond Park
Daly took over at Richmond Park as interim manager last May following the dismissal of Tim Clancy, taking over permanently after four games. Daly also served as assistant manager to Clancy during his 18-month stint in Inchicore.
He helped guide the Saints to FAI Cup success back in November, beating Dublin rivals Bohemians 3-1 in the Aviva to a record crowd of nearly 44 thousand in attendance. It was their second cup final win over Bohs in three years.
Additionally, the Dubliner guided the team to a third-place finish in the L.O.I table last season, 10 points behind champions Shamrock Rovers. Daly also took charge of the Saints European campaign last season which saw them knocked out in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League to Luxembourgish side F91 Diddeleng 5-3 on aggregate.
St. Pats will look to bounce back in a Dublin derby fixture away to Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium on Friday evening with kick-off at 7.45 pm. An interim manager has yet to be named.
