Soccer AM is slowly dying. They had some of the most random guests in 'chat show' history back in September which showed just how far the show that invented football banter has fallen. Sure, there's the odd decent bit with Jimmy Bullard in there or maybe some indepth chat with Gary Neville every once in a while. But it really isn't what it used to be.
This morning's edition featured former Watford and Liverpool star John Barnes on the couch. Alongside him was Danny Miller, an Emmerdale actor, and the latest winner of the Great British Bake Off. Now, as much as we like cake and Emmerdale, that's a pretty flat list of guests.
Nothing too out of the ordinary so far, until you see what Barnes decided to wear on the sofas.
Goddamn, I love John Barnes. pic.twitter.com/7CfWutSYRr

We were originally unsure as to why Barnes was wearing a Trinity College hoodie. A quick Google showed he has no real connections with TCD.
A bit of a dig around showed that Barnes was in Dublin during the week as part of the Liverpool Legends Tour. He, Ian Rush, Steve Nicol and John Aldridge were at an event in the Tivoli Theatre on Thursday evening. The 'World In Motion' rapper (yes, we remember that) must've popped into the campus to grab a souvenir.
Sky had originally booked Barnes to talk about his experience of Man United games while at Anfield. However, with the passing of Graham Taylor during the week, Barnes was given the opportunity to pay tribute to his former manager.

We look forward to seeing Graeme Le Saux in an IT Tralee cardigan and Dion Dublin appearing with a UCD scarf in the near future.
