Some-time footballer Fabian Delph earned a limited level of infamy over the weekend for almost reducing an interviewer to tears over a well-executed April Fool's gag.
Another footballer involved in an interview-based prank on the first day of April was former Liverpool full-back John Arne-Riise. This one, however, was labyrinthine in its execution, involving bluffs and double-bluffs.
Riise was giving an interview to a Malaysian-based TV station, Astro Super Sport. During the course of the interview, Riise was asked a barrage of deeply stupid questions, ranging from being asked to describe his experience of winning the Premier League with Liverpool and whether or not he scored that own goal against Chelsea on purpose.
You can watch a section of the interview below.

Riise ended up storming out in a huff. He then took to twitter to defend himself, and explained the situation.
One thing: that Malaysian interview I did. It's all a big prank! She wanted to prank me, but the producers and myself pranked her instead

We weren't initially sure whether Riise was in on a gag, but the broadcaster then released a video showing that it was all, in fact, a Riise-inculcated prank on presenter Amanda Chaang.
