In the middle of all last night's madness Joey Barton revealed a fairly odd rumour about Nemanja Vidic and his relationship with his United teammates at present.

Barton told Oliver Holt of the Daily Mirror that he has heard Vidic is getting changed away from the rest of the team due to ill-feeling over the negotiations around his now non-existent new contract.

Obviously this could all be nonsense but if it is true then I can't see for the life of me why Moyes wouldn't just make Rooney captain now and be done with it.
