Joey Barton's a bit stuck for something to do it seems. The former QPR is still without a club as the new season rolls around and despite the fact that he has been linked far and wide it doesn't look like he's any closer to signing a new deal.
So, to pass a bit of time, Barton decided he'd engage with some of his twitter followers yesterday with an impromptu Q&A.
Ok, just because I am in between sessions I have 20 mins. I'll do a #askjb fire your Q's? I'll try to answer as many as possible...

As you would expect there were quite a few questions sent in to Barton, some of them serious, some of them less so. However, true to his word, Barton was firing off the answers and most interestingly for Irish fans, he was asked about the possibility of going down the Damien Duff route and finishing his career in the League of Ireland.
Would you ever play in the League of Ireland? #askjb

There was only ever going to be one way he answered that.
No. Probably retire. Unless of course I lost all my money in a Bernie Madoff style ponzi and had no other option. https://t.co/kXXasGQwbZ

Bad news Joey, if you lost all your money, the League of Ireland probably wouldn't be the place to earn it all back. Surely no one could have expected him to answer any different but nonetheless, some fans of the League didn't take kindly to Barton's honesty.
@Joey7Barton funny that Joey I thought it was a bit above your standard...

Given the kind of replies Barton usually sees, we'd suggest that he probably won't be too bothered about those opinions.
