It’s pretty apt that Joey Barton is one of the few people half-defending Luis Suarez on Twitter. Known for his wild-side-walking, Barton would be as likely as anyone to sympathise with Suarez. However, despite the aggressive outbursts both men are prone to, Barton didn’t rush to the striker’s defence, instead managing to trudge his way through the undergrowth to climb on top of a lofty fence.
While not exactly at Lee Dixon level, Barton somehow managed to condemn and defend the Liverpool striker in a strange collection of Tweets.
I love Suarez. I love his passion for the game. I would have him on my team everyday of the week. I am also aware you can’t defend him here.

Isn’t it strange that when it’s on a pitch it’s passion, and when it’s on a street its psychotic?
All things considered I’d rather receive a bite than a leg breaking challenge. Whilst he should be punished, it is not the end of the world. — Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) June 25, 2014
Is having neither an option?
He’s a winner. If that means he occasionally steps over the line between right and wrong, than thats what comes with the territory…

You could say he stepped, but, it looks more like he got some help from a cannon.
Nobody’s perfect… — Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) June 25, 2014
Can’t dispute that, very diplomatic from the QPR vice captain.
