It's retirement season and Joey Barton has followed in the footsteps of Rio Ferdinand by announcing his retirement from England duty. Granted Barton's impact was somewhat limited in international football, picking up one cap in a friendly with Spain in 2007, the highlight of which was undoubtedly his comment to Frank Lampard after the Chelsea midfielder switched tables to avoid him at a training camp - "It's alright, I'm not going to steal your breakfast you fat prick." Being Joey Barton though, this required a dramatic ironic twitter announcement.
