Joe Ledley Responds To Suggestion That He Was Laughing After Coleman Injury

Wales midfielder Joe Ledley was not happy with the suggestion made by a number of Irish fans after Wales left Dublin with a point on Friday night.

The entire event had a shadow cast over it by the sickening injury to Seamus Coleman, and while initially the Wales players protested the red card shown to Neil Taylor, when it became apparent how badly the Irish captain was hurt, those complaints soon ended.

One photo of the aftermath in particular sparked a negative reaction towards Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley, with some believing that he was laughing in the moments after the awful incident. A photo taken at a split-second can often be deceptive, and the Welshman this morning took to Twitter to declare his disgust at the suggestion.

Some Irish fans have already made their mind up, but there is simply not enough evidence to suggest such a deplorable reaction took place, and considering that Ledley himself recently had to recover from a nasty injury himself in recent times it becomes even less plausible.

Remarkably, despite suffering a hairline fracture of his leg which ruled him out of last season's FA Cup Final Ledley was able to return to action in time for Euro 2016.

Unfortunately for Seamus Coleman, the nature of his injury means he will be facing a longer recovery time believed to be in the region of six-months, and Ledley was sure to wish him all the best after denying what he was accused of.
