Luton Town got the better of QPR yesterday, securing a 3-1 win over their Championship rivals, the club of Irish defender Jimmy Dunne.
It was a painful occasion for Jimmy Dunne, as the Rep. of Ireland U21 international contributed to Luton's tally with an own-goal in the 77th minute, while also injuring himself in the process, and having to be helped off the pitch.
However, Luton also came in for criticism and scrutiny after posting a tasteless tweet mocking the incident.
The since deleted tweet featured a photo of Jimmy Dunne crashing into his keeper Seny Dieng, with the caption 'Job Dunne.'
After the match, Luton manager Nathan Jones spoke of how Dunne's celebrations during last season's loss to QPR were a motivating factor in their win.
Jones felt that Dunne's actions were a sign of 'disrespect', adding another layer to the controversial tweet.

“I said in the press that we didn’t, but of course we did, because we don’t want that on our patch in our back garden," said Nathan Jones.
“If you have a look, Jimmy Dunne was doing the conga down the left-hand touchline and (Stefan) Johansen was whooping like he was on Wheel of Fortune, so it was a little bit, but I’ve been guilty of that, I’ve jumped into crowds, as I’ve said.
"So we hold no malice in that to call them out, but that’s what happened on the day.
“To be fair, it drove us on a little bit and it was a sick thing (losing the game in such a manner), the way they celebrated, the disrespect they showed us, which we kind of used, but we didn't emphasise, because that happens in football.
