It was announced yesterday that famous Sky Sports anchor Jim White will be moving on from the world of rolling sports news. The Scot has been a fixture on Sky Sports News for 23 years and done incredible work for both Transfer Deadline Day and the colour yellow in his broadcasting career.
White was treated to a standing ovation by Sky Sports News staff last night as he signed off. An emotional White thanked his colleagues at Sky Sports and described Sky Sports as 'a special place to work'.

In a statement on social media yesterday, White said:
After 23 fantastic years, it is time to bid farewell to Sky Sports.
"After much thought and with a heavy heart I leave Sky Sports News - but what a journey it has been.
"To all the superb producers, assistant producers, directors and floor managers, a massive thank you.
"To all my fellow presenters, thank you. Other media challenges lie ahead."
White was feted by fellow Sky Sports News anchors on social media. Hayley McQueen wrote the following tribute on instagram: 'A legend of broadcasting is leaving sky sports news after 23 years. He’s broken the biggest of stories with the biggest of names over the years and deadline day will not be the same again. It’s been an absolute pleasure @jimwhite, who has been my biggest champion for so many years. A proper journalist and brilliant fun to work with, you will be missed by your SSN family'.
It's hard to imagine Transfer Deadline Day without White and the urgency he spoke with White confirmed he'll continue to present a morning programme at TalkSport.
