Jim Ratcliffe's partial takeover at Manchester United looks set to be completed over the coming months, with the Englishman to acquire a 25 per cent stake in the club from the Glazer family.
The arrangement has been questioned by many of the club's supporters. They are keen to see the current owners moved on, meaning they are far from enamoured by the prospect of them retaining a majority stake in the Old Trafford outfit.
Despite the fact that Jim Ratcliffe will come in as a minority owner, it has been said that he will be taking control of footballer related matters after the deal is going through. Manchester United have struggled in that department over the last decade, with the lack of structure in the footballing department severely hampering their progress on the pitch.
It is likely that one of his first moves will be to appoint a director of football, while the transfer policy is also set to undergo an overhaul.

Jim Ratcliffe to introduce new transfer policy at Manchester United
According to Mail Sport, Jim Ratcliffe wants to target predominantly British players in the transfer market at Manchester United once the takeover is complete.
It is said the he believes a British 'core' to the side would help rediscover some of the identity of the club that has been lost in recent times.
Manchester United have made quite a few big money signings from overseas over the last few seasons, a large proportion of which have failed to perform to the level expected of them. Perhaps they hope that by signing domestic players, they will be more familiar with what is demanded at the club.
Of course, it is also a move that comes with its own complications.
Not only will it perhaps limit the pool of potential future singings, but the transfer market is notoriously inflated when it comes to signing English players. A player of similar quality brought in from the continent often costs only a fraction of what their English counterpart would.
As well as that, the likes of Harry Maguire, Jadon Sancho, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Mason Mount are all British players that signed for big fees that have yet to justify their price tag.
Manchester United will no doubt continue to sign players from outside the country, but it is interesting to hear that this is the direction they could look to go down in the near future.
