Charlotte Independence this afternoon announced that they have parted ways with Jim McGuinness.
The Donegal man was appointed as the second manager in the USL Championship side's history on a three-year deal in early December.
"Jim McGuinness has improved our club in many ways, including bringing talent to our roster and instituting new training methodologies - both of which we hope to continue moving forward," said club president Jim McPhilliamy.
As a club, our performance is measured on the pitch and collectively, we’ve fallen short. On behalf of ownership, front office and team, the Charlotte Independence organization thanks Coach McGuinness for his service to the club.
In 14 games under McGuinness's management, the club won just a single match. They sit second from bottom of the Eastern Conference with nine points. McGuinness's only win as manager was a 2-1 victory over Bethlehem Steel back in mid-April.
