Aside from being one of the best strikers in the Premier League, with a stunning 14 Premier League goals registered for a badly struggling Sunderland side, at the age of the 34, Jermain Defoe is also a bloody brilliant bloke.
The struggles of young Sunderland fan Bradley Lowrey are well known, as the 5-year-old's battle with a cancer by the name of neuroblastoma have received a truly heartwarming response from the world of football in recent weeks, but a visit from his favourite player and new best friend Jermain Defoe today is the type of thing that would bring a tear to your eye.
A group of Sunderland players, including John O'Shea, decided to cheer Bradley by paying him a visit this afternoon:

But it was Defoe who stayed a little longer on request of the young lad, and this absolutely adorable image was the result.
Bradley loves @IAmJermainDefoe he didn't want him to leave today and fell asleep cuddling into him #specialbond #bestfriends pic.twitter.com/sn2symKhdv

That is pure class from Defoe, and it will have made Bradley and his parents so happy. Really outstanding stuff from the former England international.
And as a result, Defoe is getting a lot of love on social media, with many a day being made by the lovely shapshot.
What a true legend Jermaine Defoe is, done so much for little Bradley and his cause he's really took to him. A true inspiration ❤️ pic.twitter.com/NpqCAKuAW3

The word 'legend' gets thrown around far too much, but I feel it's the most appropriate word to use when describing Jermain Defoe.

Defoe top striker, and most importantly a top person #LoveThis https://t.co/i2EasobL54

He wouldn't have done that for the credit, but it's great to see so many taking the time to give him credit for making Bradley so happy.
