Football fans rejoice: Soccer Saturday is back.
Yep, the return of the Football League meant our re-acquaintance with Jeff Stelling and his merry band of screeching TV viewers, and the Sky anchor took the opportunity to welcome rival channel BT Sport to the 'watching men watching football happen' market.
BT are launching a rival to Soccer Saturday next weekend to coincide with the return of the Premier League to be hosted by Mark Pougatch and featuring such Premier League luminaries as Harry Kewell, Jermaine Jenas, Robbie Savage, Harry Redknapp and Howard Webb.
We're not entirely sure why they are deciding to do this - Stelling and Sky are masters - but we assume it will be a bit like watching Final Score on BBC without the 5pm interruption for tStephen Watson and the latest results from the Irish League.
Stelling did not allow their arrival go unnoticed on Sky:
Oooo low blow, Jeff Stelling digging out rivals BT Sport. Get it in there early Jeff! pic.twitter.com/tYOKNzh1Yn

It's so much better when broadcasters don't pretend their rivals don't exist.
