Javi Martinez Gave His Teammates Quite A Scare After Winning Goal Vs Celtic

Celtic were eliminated from the Champions League on Tuesday night as they suffered a 2-1 home defeat to German giants Bayern Munich.

Having opted to leave Robert Lewandowski at home and play with no recognised striker in the side, the visitors still managed to take the lead in the first half through Kingsley Coman after some questionable decision making from Craig Gordon.

But Celtic, to their credit, stayed in the game. There were some decent chances created but, when James Forrest slipped a delightful ball through for Callum McGregor, the Scot briefly blew the roof off of Celtic Park.

Those celebrations were short lived.

Some criminal marking in the Celtic box left Bayern defender Javi Martinez unmarked and he placed a header beautifully into the corner, but he paid a price as he took a clattering from Nir Bitton.

The Spaniard was bloodied and his teammates were immediately concerned following the clash of heads.

Ouch.

Martinez was able to complete the match, but he looked like a Halloween costume from that point on and will have a nasty bump in the morning.
