Over the course of his career, it's fair to say that Roy Keane fell out with quite a few people in the world of football.
The Cork man was a combative character at the best of times, something that often resulted in confrontation both on and off the pitch. That was usually with an opposition player, although he also clashed with teammates at both club and international level on more than one occasion.
His relationship with former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has been well documented, with the pair not really seeing eye to eye for much of their time together at Old Trafford.
When it comes to international teammates, one person Roy Keane never quite seemed to mesh with was Jason McAteer.

Jason McAteer responds to Roy Keane red card comments
Roy Keane and Jason McAteer may have been together in Ireland squads for quite a few years, but it is fair to say that they were not close.
They even clashed at club level on a few occasions. The most notable incident came when Keane was sent off for elbowing McAteer during a game between Manchester United and Sunderland back in the 2003/04 season.
During an episode of Stick To Football last week, the former Ireland captain said he had no regrets over the incident.

He deserved it...
I wouldn't go that far (that they were colleagues). Absolutely not, just because you play with someone doesn't mean you're mates....
What used to get to me was players that shout their mouths off. I didn't mind lads kicking me or booting me, honestly.
But McAteer, as usual, had plenty to say for himself. I didn't deserve to be sent off in that game, absolutely not. If you look back at it, I didn't even catch him.
Those words have not gone down well with his former international teammates.
After Balls shared the clip of Roy Keane speaking about the incident, Jason McAteer would respond with his own opinion of the ex-United man.
Love it. Players shouting their mouths off !!! Funny You can’t shut the clown up now. And no we weren’t team -mates cause he never showed up and when he did he went home !!!! Please !!!!! Bore off. https://t.co/ysPu1H5Ry9

Certainly no love lost there.
We don't think Roy Keane and Jason McAteer will be exchanging any Christmas cards this year.
