Jason Knight made himself a young Irish player to put in the notebook on Saturday. The 16-year-old scored twice as Derby County U18s beat their Man City counterparts 2-0.
Knight opened the scoring after just five minutes. It was a sensational, missile-like strike from the young midfielder which Pawel Sokol in the City goal could not stop.
Just five minutes later, Knight would double his and his team's tally for the game. This one came when he reacted quickest to a loose ball in the penalty area.
Knight signed for Derby two years ago from Cabinteely, initially joining on a three-year deal. An Ireland U17 international, he has been described by the Derby academy as 'captain material'.
