During Barcelona's 1-1 draw with Atletico over the weekend, something out of the ordinary happened. Granted, every time Lionel Messi is on the pitch, there is always a danger of the Argentinian conjuring up a piece of magic, but his latest trick was out of this world.
In the 20th minute the forward found himself around the half way line. The ball bounced off his head and up in the air. Atleti defender Felipe Luis was in close attention as the ball fell from the sky.
But despite all conventional wisdom pointing towards a low risk situation for Luis, Messi had other plans. The 31-year-old somehow managed a backheel nutmeg that is so outrageous I'm not even sure if he meant it.

I mean, any other player and I'd say it was a fluke. He can't be that good. Back to goal, no idea where Luis was let alone where the space between his feet was.
Here's another angle of the play:

Gerard Pique recently called his team mate an alien, and going off of this flick I might just give Roswell a buzz just to double check.
