On Friday evening it emerged Arsenal were in talks to sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester.
Arsenal have apparently made a bid of £20 million for the 29-year-old who scored 24 goals in the Premier League this season. The bid triggered a release clause in the player's contract, one which is only open to teams playing in the Champions League.
According to the Leicester Mercury, Arsenal have offered the striker a four-year contract which would double his weekly wages to £120,000.
Understand that Arsenal have triggered the release clause in Jamie Vardy's contract. Leicester still determined to keep hold of him.

Vardy was key to Leicester winning the Premier League this season. His run of scoring in consecutive games will likely hold him a place in English football history for years to come. One would have thought him a hero to Leicester fans - beyond reproach not matter what else happens in his career.
Of course, that's not how the minds of some football fans work.
On Twitter last night and this morning, Vardy's wife Rebekah admonished fans for some of the abuse being sent her way due to the rumours.
Listen LCFC fans don't come at me with abuse! I have nothing whatsoever to do with calling the shots in my husband's career! Its unfair 😞
