Leicester City's owners have mobilised their fans in rather odd protest this afternoon. Jamie Vardy will miss the festive fixtures owing to his rather harsh sending off against Stoke City; a decision so innocuous as to rile the famously placid Claudio Ranieri into confronting the referee on full-time.
Leicester appealed the decision, but it was thrown out, and Vardy's three-match ban was upheld. The first of those games takes place today against Everton, and in a slightly frightening show of solidarity, Leicester's owners have distributed 30,000 Jamie Vardy masks to their supporters to help make his presence felt around the King Power, even if he isn't going to be on the pitch.

Vardy will watch the game alongside Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who took to Instagram to express his displeasure at the FA's upholding of the ban:
I am so sorry for the unfair judgement of referee to Vardy and more sorry that our appeal was rejected. This kind of judgement distort the charming of English Premier.
I spend a lot of time and effort to make my beloved LCFC a success, but this incident made me feel dispirit from football.
Anyway, we move on now and it's time that we need to be unity together and cheer up (louder than before) to our team no matter what happen, we are fearless and never quit!
If Leicester can win the game, it will be quite a night in Leicester, with 30,000 Jamie Vardys having a party.
